Anybody successfully bsel (333fsb --> 400fsb) modified their x5470's for 4.0ghz effective clock speed? Can't find anybody having done so on these CMP's, I will be doing this mod in the near future.

The only X5470 I have seen are SLBBF. As far as I have found no SLB-- chips work in a 3,1 Mac Pro. Only SLA-- processors work.
The best one you can get that might work is the X5460 SLANP 3.16ghz quad.

Thanks, I actually had no idea that it wasn't on the CPU support list. I suppose x5460's BSEL @ 3.8ghz is the next best thing.

did u succeed?
I do believe I had it working but I think it was too hot with the VID adjustment, I think Mac OS did not display the correct clocks too. I scrapped the idea and no longer own a 3,1.
