Here are the benchmarks from the 7300 GT in OSX Native (I hate calling it "bootcamp" because I did not load "bootcamp", just did a fresh install to a second hard drive)

Overall the scores are worse than the x1600 in the iMac, but the 7300 GT could still run some games ok.

7300 GT Stock clock speeds (I forgot to check what the stock speeds are)

3DMark Score 1644 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 594 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 553 Marks
CPU Score 3820 Marks

Wow, the 7300GT is terrible. I'm glad I have my iMac for my casual gaming instead. I love my older games at crazy high resolutions.

I love running my older games at high resolutions too. it just sucks when there is a new game out because then i think, "Wow! Awesome game! I can't wait for a couple more years when I'll be able to run it!!!" :p

There won't be any games any time soon that modern computers won't be able to handle.. If you had quad 7950GTX's in SLI, it would be quite a while until there's a game that you can't run... The only problem is you can't get the cutting edge graphics cards in macs for SOME reason.. Hopefully that will change soon.. (It BETTER!)

I'll admit that I'm running Boot Camp for Half Life 2 and Joint Operations. Both of them are very nice mid-late 2004 games. They look great at 1280 x 1024 on my 20" widescreen. Otherwise, OS X for everything else! I'll have to settle with 1024 x 768 for newer games.

I would have thought the 7800 GTX would have been a bit faster. Pretty good results though. What resolution was this at?

The ATI 1900xt card option should be fine for most games now, though anything beyond 1600x1200 resolution is probably out.

I'm not sure about that. Oblivion will eat video cards now, as does Ghost Recon. Battlefield 2142 will be out soon that probably will be another big hit, even to modern cards. Then you have Quake Wars and Crysis down the road that will significantly challenge higher end video cards.

The Mac Pro with the 1900xt looks like a very good gaming computer for now, but you pay a huge premium over a similar Windows PC for it, and lose flexibility.

Of course, the Mac OS X advantage adds a lot, especially if just a casual gamer :).

It was at the default resolution for 3dMark06, 1280x1024.
