Mac Pro 4,1>5,1 RAM Question

I have just added the 3.46 X5677 quad core to my 2009 MP.

I have read the CPU compatibility list and I wanted to cross check with you all what the max RAM is for this CPU.

Computer set up to date:

X5677 SLBV9 3.46 GHZ quad core, 12MB 6.4 GT/s LGA 1366
RAID 0 2 TB, Win10 500 GB, Back up 1 TB
HD 5870, Samsung S27B550
GT 120, Dell generic 20 in monitor
Current RAM PC8500 16 GB


OWC says bout 48 GB
I do recall with the X**** CPU, maybe up to 64 GB? This is my confusion on the max RAM
