MP 1,1-5,1 Mac Pro 4,1 - cpu board done ?

searched online and and this forum. Did not find the same scenario.
I have a 4,1 2.66mhz given to me. no hdd.
No chime on pwr up. Steady white light. Diag leds indicate all is good, efi good.
but, no flashing light when 0 ram installed.
red led on board if cpu pulled.
good ram used for testing.
I suspect cpu or cpu board.

You need to find a 4.1 or 5.1 to test your cpu board.

if you put your board in a 5.1 the fans will go full speed, this is ok.

Maybe try to get a W3520 CPU to test it out? They are like ~$5 on eBay. Probably easier and more efficient than trying to find someone willing to let you test theirs out. Also probably much cheaper than getting a new CPU board. Heck I just found a matched PAIR of then for $1.28 with $3 shipping!
