I need some help.
The Mac does not boot anymore - during an update with restart - no Video Signale - DIMM 1 red light - PCIe Fan not working

I upgraded 2009 Mac Pro 4,1 to 5,1. 2 x CPU Xeon 5680, Firmware Update, AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB, 6x16GB=96GB KIT DDR3 RAM 1333 MHz PC3-10600R ECC.

I tried all the common Reset Procedures, removed everything : Original CPU’s, Graphics Card GeForce 120, RAM’s, new battery.
nothing changed except DIMM with no RAM = no red light

If when you press the DIAG button, you get the EFI_DONE LED off, you have a brick or a dead backplane. See the Apple Technician Guide for more info on the DIAG button LEDs, around page 30, if I remember correctly.

Bricks can be repaired, if you can desolder SMD and replace the SPI flash memory with a new one programmed with your Mac Pro BootROM.

Use the search, this is a common problem, no need to explain this again here.

THX for answering. this is what I get pressing the DIAG button.
•PSU PWROK
•5V STBY

•SYS PG (next to the DIAG button to the left)
By the way first when I realized the problems with the DIMMs (1,5,7) and opened System Information there was no error message just Slot empty

EFI_DONE is off, so you could have a brick or worse, a dead backplane. If you have access to another MP4,1 or MP5,1 I'd test PSU + CPU tray before buying or doing anything.

Have you removed the CMOS battery, or pressed the power reset button next to it (have to remove the GPU to expose it)?

Power fans on, but no POST or PCI fan, and one red DIMM light were solved for me with that.

Look up Real Time Clock Reset.
