I found an article on the interwebs describing a chopped down version of windows 11, called Tiny11.

This caught my attention since it was described as running very well on outdated Apple Hardware.

So obviosly i was curious about how it runs on Mac Pro 5.1 and 6.1, but i didnt find any threads on this.

Did anyone of you guys try running this On your mac pros?

Installed once to cMP5,1. Not much difference performance wise with retail Windows 11. (Installation was quite cumbersome - installed as virtual machine from Gentoo Linux with dedicated SATA SSD, afterwards OCLP detected it & presented in interface :D ). Works like any other MS BS.

Is it necessary to do the install the way you did? Its not supported via normal install?

How does the bootcamp drivers work?

I just bought old 6.1 Mac Pro trashcan with dual D700 and would like to try Tiny11 with a set of good compatible drivers.

I am not sure how it will work with crossfire and support for that outdated GPU.

I really dont like the windows 10 and 11 bloatware, and a skinny version is very tempting.
The videos i have seen shows really old Macs running it really fast and snappy.
That might be a way to extend life for the old Macs that wont run OSX any longer now that apple starts dropping support for old hardware.

It would be interesting to get more comments from people who tried Tiny 11, especially on D700/6.1.

I found this Youtube video when googleing now.

Just for orientation for other users.

It explains the Tiny 11 install on Mac Pro 5.1 using special installer app (Windows Install):

And to get the Tiny 11 ISO its this place:
Tiny11 Builder Github:

Still i didnt find good drivers package for 6.1 Mac Pro.
If anyone knows please advice.

I've used VM-type install to avoid official Win11 requirements - Secure Boot & TPM2. Don't know if Tiny11 installer is already patched for this purposes. Funny thing - Secure Boot & TPM Required for INSTALLATION, but Win11 boots & works without them :). And I didn't install BootCamp drivers at all. Quite everything works OOB, some drivers installed with SDI (Snappy Driver Installer), which lives on my home fileserver :D.

What drivers did you install? For the GPU?
