Hello folks,
This is a question for the performance geeks. Maybe you can help me out with a geek dilemma and a pipe dream...
Here is my story:
I have a mp 5.1with a Nvidia 980ti in it. So far I was very happy with it. However, since Nvidia upgraded the Web Drivers for Pascal cards, the brand new Nvidia TITAN X Pascal Flagship Edition would work in an 5.1 I assume??
Now, if I would swap out my 980 with the Titan (that is good already) how much better would be that occasional Game on the Mac side and on Bootcamp with Win7/8/10 side:
Would it be just a little better in the 10% range or would that be a whole new dimension - I mean real significant?
The next question is this, if its good enough to swap, would you go for a hybrid one like this guy down below, or would you just use a regular Titan X design if you would make the choice for you? -- and I do understand if you think .. one must be nuts to go that far on a 5.1 that is 8 years old... but somehow I can't shake this thought away... it just stays.. buy me... go for it...
Whats the thought behind it? Unfortunately I am not professional enough to justify the purchase a shiny brand new iMac Pro for 6K. But I thought, if I can rebound some bucks back on eBay for an modified good EVGA 980Ti 6GB, a TITAN X Pascal is not that far away for a real real good geek machine 5.1. I really love that hybrid idea. What do you think?
