I upgraded from el capitan to High Sierra and now i only get USB 2.0 speeds.

I remember reading the firmware is 5Gb/s unless the firmware is upgraded, is this still the case, i can't find the firmware anywhere.

I was wondering if the USB-C 3.1 port of that card could be used to plug in the Black Magic eGPU pro, that's on the horizon. I guess CalDigit knows the answer, you will need to contact them to get the firmware. Maybe the guy that originally worked on that firmware has been fired without replacement?

No, doesn't work. EGPU's require Thunderbolt, USB-C is not the same.

No that won’t work as the blackmagic box requires thunderbolt 3. Although USB-C and thunderbolt share the same style connector, the two standards are very different.

You can contact support to get the higher speed firmware, but you should at least get USB 3.0 speeds with the default firmware, so I suspect something else is going on.
