Hello, my question is really simple.
:)
I own a mac pro 5.1 mid 2010, and I wonder if this video card is compatible without doing anything ?

EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX 4GB DDR5 - Mac Edition

http://www.amazon.fr/GeForce-GTX-77...759&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=GTX+680+Mac+Edition

I'm on OS X 10.8.5
tyvm !

(note I won't to upgrade my system ty :) )

1. BE AWARE!: there is no official EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX 4GB DDR5 - Mac Edition (it will be a .rom flashed one)

This is the last EVGA Mac Edition GTX-680

2. Please check the power requirements for this card!

3. See all further info's for PC GPU's in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1440150/

ty, but I don't search something "official", just something to work on the mac pro, if a video card can handle 4GB I would prefer to have that, especially for my works in blender :)

I am using a flashed 770gtx 4gb vram with the ACX cooling in Mountain Lion 10.8.3 and works fine. The card is quiet and runs cooler than most cards with the help of the ACX cooling system. The Amazon link you provided in your above post shows the 2gb vram version.

Hi BDM Studios. :) I was referring to this card here

The link provided by the thread starter had the 680 Mac Edition indicated in the search box though below that is a 770gtx 2gb unless I am mistaken.

Google GTX 770 Mac and then you will see all the reports on this forum of those people who installed it. There are also a couple of YouTube videos.

Don't be mad but the subject of this thread here is the GTX 770.
If it was the 680 I wouldn't ask questions about it, because I know it's compatible :)

Why don't you upgrade to the 10.8.5 ?
Just curious

Hello. Here is the link to the 770gtx 4gb vram http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclo...d=1419335815&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+770+evga+4gb

This card is quiet and even after 12+ hours of usage it's just lukewarm. I usually touch the card by hand for inspection and this card helps keeping your ambient temperature cool. It has a large heat sink and slient twin fans. I am still on 10.8.3 as I have a Newertech Max Power USB 3.0/eSata combo card where it's driver does not seem to work on 10.8.5 but I will try again and see how things goes.

Reviving this old thread...does anyone have a link to the .rom file and the procedure on how to flash this card? Is there software similar like the ATIFlash for ATI/AMD cards? Thanks!
