HI,
I'm new here and I need some help.
I wanted to upgrade my bluetooth in my Mac Pro (mid 2012) up to 4.12. I bought an upgrade kit on Ebay.
I installed it myself. I started it up and Mac didn't recognize bluetooth at all. It did recognize the new wifi card that came with the upgrade kit.
I reinstalled the original bluetooth card and wifi on my Mac and it does recognize bluetooth. It doesn't pair or recognize any on my other devices. (magic mouse, my Ipad, playstation 4 ect.).
I went through all the troubleshooting (removing usb's and restarting, resetting NVRam, and smc, and going through the bluetooth debugging mode.
It still won't pair or recognize any device in bluetooth preferences.
I have another Mac Pro 5.1 I bought new in 2010 (mid 2010). It does recognize my devices, but my magic mouse is now pretty much unusable. The cursor barely moves, and drags.
I brought the 2012 Mac to apple and they couldn't even open the chasis because the model is over 7 years old and they are not allowed to.
He mentioned it might be the board. That I might of fried it.
I HAVE A VERY HARD TIME BELIEVING I FRIED THE BOARD. THE INSTALLATION WAS NOT THAT HARD, WITH SOME EXCEPTION OF PUTTING THE ANTENNA BACK ON THE BLUETOOTH CARD WHICH WAS A HASSLE. I PUT BOTH OF MY MACS THROUGHT HARDER TREATMENT AND THEY ENDED UP WORKING FINE.
Can anyone help?
