The Sonnet Solo 10G PCIe Card stoped working somewhere around the Monterey 12.5 Update, if I remember it correct. It shows up but can not get an IP address via DHCP. With a manual config it does not work either. With Mojave everything is fine. Anybody else sees problems with Monterey beyond 12.5 and the Sonnet Solo 10G PCIe Card, or is it perhaps OCLP related.
thanks in advance...

hello,

I have the same problem as you. I contacted Sonnet support.
Here is what they replied to me:

Hello Zahir,

We checked with engineering this morning, and our answer is that we do not support beyond Apple’s last official supported macOS version, which is 10.14.6.

Regards,
Robert

hello,

Has anyone found a solution?
Because Sonnet has confirmed to me by email that there will be no software update planned for this card.

I have a similar issue with the Solo on Mojave with a cMP 5,1. This combination is officially supported. The Ethernet preference always says "cable unplugged" no matter what I do. A QNAP 10gbe card works flawlessly in the same cMP 5,1.
Any idea?

I have changed the Card to a Edimax EN-9320TX-E with an Tehuti TN9510, wich still has a working driver for Monterey. The problem with the Solo reminds me when I got my first Solo, wich has to be replaced with a new version/revision. But AQtion was bought by Marvell and Tehuti Networks closed - so no new drivers and firmware for both.
Would be interesting if the Solo is working in a MacPro 7.1 with Monterey.

Be careful with any hopes or assumptions 😉. With Monterey it's very important to distinguish between < 12.3 and >= 12.3 since there were important changes from 12.3. Don't expect some drivers described as "compatible with Monterey" working beyond 12.2. Esp. if it's about unsupported Macs.

The Edimax works with 12.6.4, to be more precise. The Sonnettech Solo is still sold with support for Mac Pro 5.1 and 7.1 and is Ventura compatible. I am disappointed by the short usability of this nics, even with windows 11 the AQC107 and AQC111 could/will stop working. Back to the topic: still would be interesting to know, if the Solo works with 12.6.4 in MP 7.1 just to know, if the problem is Mac OS or OpenCore/OCLP related.

Hi guys thanks for your response. I currently have this configuration: MacPro 5.1 Mac Os Monterey 12.6.3 with OpenCore/OCLP.
If I understand correctly I can install an Edimax EN-9320TX-E card?
Can you confirm that this card will work?
thanks guys

I can confirm, that the Edimax EN-9320TX-E will work with Monterey up to 12.6.4 and OCLP in a MP. You can get the latest driver from here: driver. But to be clear: Tehuti is out of business and the latest driver is from early 2020 so Monterey is probably the end of the road for Tehuti based cards.

Did you test this with cMP 7.1 or cMP 5,1? They may behave completely differently with Monterey 12.6.4. one reason is the different intel architecture.

The Edimax card work with the latest akitio driver, Monterey 12.6.4 and OCLP in a MP 5.1 2012 and MP 4.1 2009 flashed to 5.1.

Just checked and there are two versions of the Edimax EN-9320TX-E and EN-9320TX-E V2, first with silver and the second with black cooler. Unfortunately the second one has another chipset from AQtion, so the driver for the Tehuti based one will not work.
