Some time ago I bought the rx 5500xt for my Mac Pro so, can game on windows, but I still keep the hd 5870 for the boot screen. I would like to know if I upgrade to MacOS catalina so I can have rx 5500xt support, if the hd although not having drivers would still display the bootscreen?

Hello, I’m not having a great time installing Catalina. I followed a tutorial from YouTube, I went trough the steps and got to the part where you install Catalinain in the ssd. It seems that my Mac Pro doesn’t want to detect the partition with Catalina so as I try to use the patcher it says no os detected and gives me an error. I tried different USB’s different hardrives but nothing. Until I connected the ssd where I first installed Catalina to my 2010 iMac where it got detected and could make the install (wich I didn’t). So as it didn’t work I tried to install again high sierra but the installer says that a firmware update is needed, and gives me the option of turning off the computer (which didn’t work). So I turned it off by forcing it and keept pressing the button until the beep and the start chime but nothing. Instead of the updating progress bar it gave me the folder sign of no bootable device found.
Any ideas of what can I do for having either of the two os’s working
