Hi

I'm iOS developer that required Sequoia to develop in iOS 18. I need to upgrade my Mac Pro 4.1 Flashed to 5.1 from Monterey (xCode only support 16.4 iOS) to Sequoia. My Mac Pro using RX 580. Is there any possible way to achieve this using OCLP?

Thanks

yes

if the app requires AVX2 instruction set then it won't work because the CPU does not support AVX2

Personally I would buy a M4 Mac mini and use the Mac Pro as an archive device.

Thank you for your reply.

So can mac pro 5.1 installed using Mac Os Sequoia? Does it stable? If yes, is there anything link as a guidelines?
I don't know that the app requires AVX, i just using the xcode. I need the xcode to be run on the latest mac os.

Sure can. The real question is if you should install it. If you go for it, use a spare disk and keep your Monterey one as is.

Does it stable?

For some workflows is acceptable, not for developing. No way stable as Monterey. People are having problems with Safari JIT compiler with 15.1.

OCLP GitHub page.

Xcode now requires AVX2, get a supported Mac.

It works, and seems to be reasonably stable (I'm on it currently), however there's some interesting graphics stuff that appears to happen, like a lack of anti-aliasing on certain renderings:

This is with the latest version of OCLP with the patches installed (for the RX 580 to work, I have the same GPU as you).
