Hi all.
I have a problem that I really don’t understand...
I'm trying to install my pre flashed Titan Ridge V2 on my Mac Pro 5,1 running High Sierra, to be able to use my Focusrite Clarett 8Pre sound card.
I have done a fresh High Sierra installation on an old SATA drive, everything works as it should, without Open Core, all I need to do is one restart and it’s up and running and works great.

But here’s what I don’t understand, when I do exact the same installation, but on a Samsung SSD 870 EVO (updated with Mac firmware) it does not work…
After installing the drivers for the sound card and restarting the computer I’ll get the prohibit sign.
It doesn’t matter how many times I try to restart, it won’t boot as long as my Clarett is turned on.

I have also tried to clone the working SATA drive with SuperDuper, but I get the same result.
If I reset NVRAM, then the computer will boot, but the sound card won't load and after restart I’ll get the prohibit sign again...

I have also tried using Open Core, but no matter what version of OP I try, I get the same result as I do without OP.
The installation procedure is exactly the same on both drives, the only difference is the SSD disk…

Has anyone had the same kind of problem with SSD drives, or have any ideas what may be causing this problem?

Thanks!

You can add -no_compat_check to the boot-args of the config file of OpenCore to boot High Sierra.
Thanks for your reply.
I'm pretty new to OpenCore, but this is how it looks in my config file.?
