Mac Pro 5,1 with RX 580 with Sceptre Monitor, no Retina mode

Ok, here is my setup:

Mac Pro 5,1 running OSX 10.13.6

Radeon RX 580 Video card

Monitor:
Sceptre 27" U278W-4000R Monitor
connected via DP

The problem:
OSX is not recognizing this as a Retina display in display setup, and does not give me the option to rescale my icons.

The display setting panel I get is as follows:

So is there anyway I can force OSX to recognize my display as being a retina display, and give me the scaling options?

It looks like you are already using the retina options.

1) For non retina resolution, you should see "low resolution"

2) you can confirm the rendering "resolution" at system info. I believe you were selecting the "UI looks like" resolution, not the real rendering resolution.

I am not seeing the low resolution options. All I have are a list of resolutions, with no resolution options.

I was hoping to have an option screen similar to this so I can resize my icons and text to go with the higher resolutions. Otherwise they are so small, the higher resolutions are useless.

The rendering resolution is the same as the resolution being picked on my display settings.

You may either try hold "option" and then click "scaled" in the display setting window.

Or try ResXtreme

Click the monitor's name to expend the list, then click "Scale", pick one of the "2x" resolution you want, double click it

Well, I have two displays, Lenovo ThinkVision P27q (2K) and P27u (4K). The first one works in 2K Res/2K UI mode, the second one is set to 4K Res/2K UI. But System Profiler somehow thinks that P27u is a 5K display. And if I change Scaled to Default for display in Displays preference pane, System Profiler will show the correct 4K resolution. It doesn't affect anything at all, but looks pretty weird.
Could anyone explain this strange behaviour please?

No, the Mac doesn't believe that's a 5k display. Just because you choose 1440P HiDPI, therefore, it render the UI at 1440P x2, which is 5K. This action has nothing to do with the display's actual / native resolution.

If that "resolution" means the monitor's native resolution, then my monitor in post #2 has 7680x2160, which obviously no display on the market has this resolution yet.
