Looking for some advise on getting the benq sw271 monitor to replace my cinema display I had for a decade. I want to print my photographs in house now and do some color grading too esp with my epson p800.
I cannot find info whether the Rx580 gpu supports 10 bit which is supported on the benq. Also being 4k, I could swing for the cheaper 2k version but after watching reviews, still leaning on the 4k screen. The cinema display I have is 27" but the bezels make it look like a 32"+ monitor.

Thanks Darmond, I got the SW271 last nite - I used the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Adapter Cable and works fine. The monitor has USB-C and HDMI option but my aging mac pro 5,1 doesn't have USB-c which would have been ideal. So will look at adding that to the mac pro.

Enjoy your monitor. I have a pair of SW271's on my Mac mini when I find my desk again (in the middle of a full house renovation).

You shouldn't need to worry about going USB-C so long as you're getting the results you need. It's possible it could just bring you trouble to run your monitor through USB-C on such an old machine.
