Like it says in the title... extremely frustrating because it slows the whole Restart process down. Sometimes, the Desktop and apps will appear, and I think I'm out of the woods and then the grey screen blots everything out, with a dialog box asking for my iCloud Password. Very, very, very occasionally it won't happen and I'm amazed at how fast Startup actually is. I've tried signing out of and then back in to iCloud and I followed the steps here... no joy.


I had a look at this:


But my FaceTime and Messenger are both signed in (and I only get one dialog box, not two).

AFAIK, MP5,1 don't support iCloud Activation Lock at all, only works with MP6,1 and MP7,1.

Start investigating with a clean install on another disk, this is for sure an iCloud authentication problem somewhere with your macOS install.
