Mac Pro and Vue 6 Infinite

My Mac Pro - bought new last December with 2.66GHx Dual Core intels and Radeon X1900 Graphics Card - renders e-on softwares Vue 6 Infinite 3d movie frames and stills at two thirds of the speed of my 2 year old intel imac. The imac has 2 GB of RAM. In one test - using their own internal renderers and rendering the exact same scene of 465000 polygons the results were :-

imac 4' 20"
Mac Pro with 1GB Ram 5' 56" - with 4GB RAM 5' 49" - with 9GB RAM 5' 54"
The Mac Pro is recognising the RAM so it is being installed correctly

Having bought the Mac Pro specifically to speed up Vue 6 renders - to say the least I am somewhat disappointed.

Can anyone explain why this is happening.

I have Vue 6 Esprit so I can't compare my program with yours but I suggest you make sure your preferences and render options are set exactly the same on both machines before you compare them. If you've already done that then I'm stumped.

Everything was set up the same - the problem was there with the previous Beta version and has been carried on into the latest official update.

I suspect e-on software have forgotten to put something in 'Infinite' to make it work on dual processor Macs - they don't seem to be all that interested in macs - I've had previous problems with them.

They however are refusing to answer my communications which is why I went to outside forums to try and find an answer.

In the UK a mac pro with extra memory is the equivalent of about $5,000 - at the moment I am not getting value for money as far as Vue 6 Infinite is concerned.

Version 6.5 claims to have 64bit support, better memory management and multi processor support.
