I just bought an OEM copy of XP Professional w/SP2 to install on a standard config Mac Pro. I partioned the drive on my 2nd internal HD. After Boot Camp Assistant reboots the computer...when the Windows installation reaches the point of "Press Enter to Continue Windows Installation" my Apple USB keyboard doesn't seem to work and I can't press Enter to get it to continue. I've tried plugging it in the different USB ports on the computer, but it still doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!!

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but the apple keyboard has an enter and a return key. Both has a slightly different function. Make sure you press enter and not return (assuming i'm correct).

The key on the number pad on the right is "Enter" whereas the key says "Return" above the right "Shift" key. I've tried pressing both. Also, during the windows installation the caps lock light is on and if i press on it the green light does not go off...

All I can say is that BootCamp is beta software. It hasn't had all the bugs worked out, and is not guaranteed to work correctly.

Sorry, but that's all I have to say.

Yeah that happens on most pc's It's either the Caps light or the Number lock.

that has happened to me while installing windows on a pc. the machine stops detecting usb ports so i have to use a ps2 mouse and keyboard to continue. don't know if that is the issue here but it worked for me before so give it a shot.

restart the installation. I had taht happen to me once... as stated, windows just simply stops looking at the usb ports.

when I restarted the install, it went all the way through the 2nd time.

Do you even know what Bootcamp is?

Apparently Apple can be very misleading about what their software "does".

Not really, they explicitly state it's beta, and that installation is not supported nor guaranteed.

I'm not saying thats it not... I'm just saying that has NOTHING to do with the fact that bootcamp is BETA... bootcamp isn't really what lets you install WinXP on a Mac, in fact you could install WindowsXP without even looking at bootcamp.

And as bootcamp has nothing to do with the actual winxp installation his problem does not relate to bootcamp or the fact thats its beta.

Enter/return key

Where is your keyboard plugged in? if your plugged into the port on the monitor and not one of the ports on the case it self you may have trouble with the keyboard not working.

I had the same problem when I first went to install XP. I just plugged the keyboard into the back of the system case and the return/enter key worked :)
