hi, i was moving my brand new mac pro across my office to another desk earlier, yesterday i cleaned my carpet with carpet cleaning liquid and the floor was still a little damp. during seting it up i accidently let the wires from my apple cinema display fall on the carpet, i gave them a good wipe dry and carryed on setting up, im just a littled worryed about it now, its working fine and everything, but just wondered if this could have have had any damage to the machine or display, im sure it will be fine as i have heard peoples computers work after being submerged in flood water and dried out, and this is not even a drop on a couple of connectors im prob just bein paranoid, its just i have saved for ages for this machine and really dont want anything to go wrong:confused: i think i just wanna hear some assurance anyway i love the machine and shall be taking photos for the pictures thread
many thanks:D

Did the connectors get wet, or did you just get the shielded cords wet with a bit of carpet cleaner?

The shielding itself is going to be waterproof, and even if the connectors got wet, those should be fine after they had a chance to dry!

sorry i meant the conectors, they werned exactly WET as such, more they had just been laying on the damp carpet, i gave them a quick wipe gently though so i didnt damage the connetors, and carried on, im 99.99% sure its fine anyway but im sure im allowed to be a little paranoid/OCD when spending £3000 on a computer :D apple tend to make ther stuff well, and able to take some bashing, my macbook gets thrown all over the place  :D
cool well i just wanted to be sure my new baby is going to be ok :p

Seriously, how the hell are we supposed to know that? :) The only one who can answer it is you and seeing as it works now and has been all day, chances are it most likely won't explode in your face ;)

As long as you in the future remember to let everything wet get dry before connecting anything to it.
