Hi guys !
I have a cMP 5.1 (mid2010) with mono W3680 @3.33GHz with Big Sur (OpenCore) with 48GB (3x16GB) SDRAM.
I want to upgrade the processor with a X5690 @3.46GHz.
Do you confirm me that the X5690 @3.46GHz can manage 64GB (4x16GB) SDRAM ?
Thank you ??

Yes, X56xx Xeons can work with 4x16GB on a single CPU tray.

Hi and thank you for your answer.
Do you confirm nowadays the "triple channel" is no longer as pertinent as few years ago ?
... that means 64GB (4x16GB) is certainly better than 48GB (3x16GB) ?

If you are using so much memory that you need disk swap, more slighter slower memory will always give you more performance than less quantity of faster memory.
