Your graphics card doesn't support CUDA since it's ATI; the ATI equivalent would be OpenCL.

CUDA is NVIDIA only. And unfortunately, none of the supported CUDA cards would actually work on a 1st-gen Mac Pro.

Which version of Resolve are you running? Blackmagic did add OpenCL support to Resolve in Version 8. But I think they're mostly targeting that to MacBook Pros and iMacs using ATI OpenCL GPUs.

None, but with one exception: The NVidia 8800GT for the Mac (first Generation). This card works with the PCIe 1.0 bus found the in 1.1 and 2.1 Mac Pros.
Alas, do not confuse this card with the NVidia 8800GT for the Mac. Apple sold another revision of the card which requires an PCIe 2.0 bus. The cards look pretty much the same, so if you find a 8800GT for your Mac, check the compatability.

Actually, that's good advise. Update your software. That's much better than searching for old graphic cards for your Mac. :)

Easy solution...

Easy solution to this is to update to DaVinci Resolve v8.0 which allows for ATI cards to be used via OpenCL. Update to v8.0 is free at the Blackmagic Design website for all v7.0 license holders.

The 8800 GT is a CUDA capable card, but it's not on the list of supported GPUs for Resolve. It may work in OpenCL though. YMMV.

Sound advice, although the OP did mention that she's running an X1900 XT card, which isn't an OpenCL supported card. So either way, she'll still need an upgraded graphics card for Resolve.

The Radeon 5770 would probably be the best bet on a 2006 machine.
