if i have a separate windows computer, can i just plug it into the 2nd ethernet port on my mac pro and use internet thru it to that windows computer?

do i have to enable internet sharing first, or will it just work as an internet plugin for that 2nd computer?

You would need to turn on internet connection sharing and configure DHCP or static addresses.

Switches are cheap, go buy a switch.

i already have 3 switches, 1 hp pro curve 8 port, and two of the new dlink green switches, 1-8 and 1-5 port, all great but, i just want to use the 2 nic openings i have so i dont need to hook up a 5 port switch for 2 computers.

or i will quit being lazzy and get vmware or parrelles and install windows finally!

Probably a good idea as ICS is really not an ideal solution. I wouldn't recommend using it unless you have to. Switches are cheap, use a switch.
