Hi ,
I have a Mac Pro early 2009 8 core and I would like to replace its GPU with an ATI R9 290.
I read here somewhere that the power provided by the Mac Pro PSU does not cover newer GPUs.
So is it possible to buy the Card (any Card f.e this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202043) together with an external PSU and make it work?
How does an external PSU work, can I just connect it to the grid directly and then the GPU to the external PSU? What external PSUs do you recommend?
Thanks in advance
