Hi all, thanks for your responses on my previous post from last week.

I am hoping that someone may be able to help me with building my Mac Pro. I need to be able to edit a 60-90 minute feature shot in 4K raw. I'm looking for the best system requirements for me to be able to edit in 4K ProRes. I was originally going to do raw but not right now. That would take up way to much space on my 32 TB drives. So my question being, what are my requirements for editing? I need a super fast computer, and I'll need the list, preferably the check list from the Build My Mac store for Mac Pro. Any idea on what price would be? I'm hoping no more than 5,000 before taxes but if it's more I understand and will continue to save up. My iMac won't suffice for this type of effort.

If you must use Thunderbolt and must buy now then the six core Mac Pro with dual D700 and 64GB RAM will fit your budget and handle the video easily. The graphics card is essential to handling the video smoothly in Final Cut. That should be the minimum spec to aim for.

Agreed, although 32GB should be plent of RAM if cost is a consideration.
