Daily there are people coming to ask if the Mac Pro can be good for gaming and what kind of graphics performance can it achieve, well I have been benching recently and will upload all my tests this week.

My specs are in my signature. I only have one game in Yosemite which is F1 2013. I am now downloading a bunch for Windows. My Windows is 8.1, all latest patches and drivers, no overlocking. I load the games from a 2TB Western Digital Black. I intend to move this set up to an m2 SSD in the future to get quicker loading and reduce all that ancient hard drive noise.

My first benchmark is simply the newest 3DMark. All the settings are default, no settings changed, nothing! In the case of this benchmark I ran the app from a RAM Disk I created with Im Virtual Disk Driver which made a G:/ drive with 1900MB/s read 2100MB/s write performance.

This is my 3DMark result with only one run. It is difficult to compare it to the database online as I can see only two Mac Pros in their system with my GPU and not even one Mac or PC system with my CPU (I understand but still). I am quite pleased with the result. Guru 3D had a overclocked six core 4.6ghz i7 and got about the same Fire Strike score :) their CPU was 2ghz faster than mine! Lol

About 15 more benchmarks to come on the weekend ;)

Heaven and Valley are good cross platform benchmarks:

Unigine Valley is quite bound to the CPU. This is my result, earlier today I had 100 points more when my boot up was fresh. If I had a X5690 I think it would be 3200-3500.

With the latest CUDA driver 6.5.3.7. I don't know much about CUDA. If there is any benchmarks anyone wants me to do with it let me know.

The emphasis of my tests is graphics cards so some app tests are included.
