Hey,

I just installed a second (500 GB) HD in my Mac Pro. I am running Win XP and would like to have the HD visible on both Mac and WinXP platforms. What setting do I use to do this (Formating)? I have it working on both right now but it is in a FAT32 which I do not like. Can it be done in a NTFS read/writable on both? For this HD access from WinXP is my primary concern, so in a worst case senario what setting would I utilize for WinXP only (in a NTFS format)? Cheers. Sorry I am a newbe to Mac this month.

Cheers

Taksman.

Windows cannot see Mac formatted volumes. Macs can read (sometimes) but not write NTFS volumes. That leaves FAT32, like it or not.

Or you can buy some software (MacOpener?) that allows Windows to read and write a HFS+ Mac formatted volume.

Thanks for the insights.

Which formating option (on first install) would I use to have only WinXP side use the drive in a NTFS format?

Cheers and thanks
