My 2008 Mac Pro has begun to lose the internet connection after it has gone in sleep mode. I usually have to renew the DHCP lease to kick it back on.

Right now the internet is lasting about 2 mins and then it stalls, I have to renew the DHCP lease just to get a couple of mins of internet.

Any ideas?

This is a problem I encountered a while ago. I ran disk warrior, permissions, diagnostics, everything. I got a USB Internet stick. That didn't fix the problem.I finally took it to macmall to get it looked at. After 2 days of test and diagnostics, they couldn't fix it. So I reinstalled OS and did a time machine restore. This didn't work either as it just reimported the problem. I had to backup files and do a clean install of OS. Then reimport all my files manually and reinstall all my apps which is a huge pain, but it worked....

O FYI I had a 2008 macpro at the time as well :(

My 08 Mac Pro had airport issues about 5 months ago. I would often get just a few minutes of full speed internet then suddenly it would struggle. One day, I turned it on and it couldn't even connect to the router. I bought an Asus dongle and it works fine now.
