I've recently came into an 2.8 GHz early 2008 mac pro. Everything appears to be fine, but it's missing both memory risers, and of course the ram that would be on them. I've been looking around, and before i buy anything, i want to make sure everything would be compatible. This is what I'm looking at.

for RAM either this one, Which is four 1 GB RAM sticks

or two 2 GB RAM sticks

and for memory risers one of the following links

I'll most likely go with the 2x2Gb Ram, for the reasons of future upgrades, not to mention it would be cheaper, but if there are any reasons to get the 1 GB sticks tell me. For the memory risers i just want to make sure they will work, and work well. I'm also thinking about getting a second hard drive, I would think around 1 Tb would be good, but i want something that will be fast, reliable, and not too expensive. I also need some means of hooking it up to my tv, with HD video and audio. If you have any ideas, or opinions, or help in general i would appreciate it greatly.
Thanks in advance,

Brad

Actually i don't. what i do know is that it's only been used once for about two hours, and then put into storage. they took out the RAM because they wanted to upgrade it. ya pretty weird, only after one use, but i know several people that are that way. well they never put the risers back in, and ended up losing them. so here i am with a $3000 barely used free, mac pro without RAM. I'll take it. Everything looks ok internally, when you power it on everything looks good. It's been in an air conditioned basement kept around 70 degree, so i think it should be fine. I'm not buying anything extra, like the extra HD until i do get it running though. I just wanted to go ahead and get a few opinions first, and make sure that i get compatible parts, so if it doesn't work at least i can rule out not using proper hardware.
