Hey gang! I need your help. When I start up my Mac Pro there's no display. I hear the chime, the fan runs (video card) at a high rpm and then the computer turns off after a minute or two... all along no display on the monitor. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Mac Pro No Display Only Fan Running

It's a first-generation. Since I can't see my screen I can't access my specs. I've only used it for video editing over the years. I have the serial number and the model number on back says A1186. I replaced the graphics card about 5 years ago. Would you recommend replacing it again?
Have you tried connecting it to an external monitor? Sounds like an issue with your display. Perhaps the lvds cable. Possibly the logic board. Have you ever taken your Mac apart?
What I would recommend is that you if possible swap out your GPU and while you are at it blow out your machine completely. It almost sounds like a overheating issue in the processor tray. After blowing it out keep the processor tray out and removed all PCI cards and then turn it on and see if it stays on. Then put the processor tray back in with no cards and see if it stays on. Yup. I checked all of those. Apple support couldn't confirm it, but thought it might be the video card. Your thoughts?
Those were the obvious things that sometimes get overlooked. I don't have a Mac Pro. Might you consider reseating the graphics card?

Are there any led’s lit on the board? I would suggest pulling out RAM and trying to boot with just a chip at a time. I had a similar problem with the fans running full tilt and power off on a 2008 MacPro and it turned out to be a blown psu. Some guys have had luck trying minimal RAM installed to discover one of the DIMMs was faulty. I would start there.
