Mac Pro Nomenclature: Help Please

I am confused.

Could someone explain to me the numbering/naming conventions I see here for Mac pros? I am referring yo the 4,1...1,1...etc.

Bonus points for pictures or verbal descriptions as that would be most helpful. Like, for instance, that big cheesegrater model...that weird clear plastic handle model, etc.

Those are Model Identifiers, Apple puts them into their machines to identify their models.

As for all the models, either use MacTracker as said before or go to EveryMac.com.
