Mac Pro & nVidia 7800 GT

I have just received my Mac Pro and replaced NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT with NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT (taken out from Power Mac G5). Well, it does not work. Is that another Apple's genious idea to make me buy something that I do not want (Radeon X1900)? Any ideas?

The 7800 that you have uses OpenFirmware. EFI uses something else entirely different. Realistically, it should be possible for Apple to release an EFI extension which would allow your 7800 to be used, but I doubt they will go through the effort.
