Hey guys,

I'm thinking of spending probably around 2,100. I've seen a Dual 2.7 G5 for about that price. But i know that there is a Dual 2.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac Pro available. Does anyone know how fast that machine is compared to the Dual 2.7 G5? Apple's website only makes references to the 2.66Ghz and the 3.0Ghz Mac Pro's vs. the Quad G5.

I've checked Bare Feats but I didn't see anything. Can anyone post up a link for me to read how things turned out?

Yes its upgradeable. As for the MacPro it depends on what you do. The Dual 2.7 is no slouch but if it can step up to the MacPro is highly unlikely BUT i dont know the numbers either.

The new Mac Pro's are leaps and bound superior for someone who requires
a workstation.

Save a bit more and try to go for the new 2.66 GHz Mac Pro.

The Dual 2.7's PPC towers have had quite a few noise issues.

That is all gone in the new Mac Pro.
