Mac Pro or equivalent Mac Mini?

I have:
Mac Pro 4.1, Early 2009, 2.66Ghz quad, 500Gb HD. Geekbench 3 score 1896 single-core, 7245 multi-core
Mac Mini Late 2012 2.5Ghz, i5, 500Gb HD. Geekbench 3 score 2569 single-core, 5324 multi-core

I'm wondering which to use in my main system. I use Microsoft Office a lot, and run Audirvana+ music software into my DAC via USB. I also watch freeview TV and YouTube a lot so streaming is important.

With this kind of software and usage, which will be faster and/or more efficient? The Mac Mini is USB-3 rather than USB-2 and no doubt other internals have been upgraded.

You mention the W3690. The W3670 and W3680 are cheaper - would there be much loss of speed with those, and do they work?

You shouldn't able to feel the difference between W3680 and W3690. Also, X5677 is also a good choice.
