So has anyone heard any news on the Mac Pro's cuz I'm trying to decide whether I should wait or not. I mean I would love a Mac with Two Woodcrest Dual or Quad core processors, but if it's either not worth it or not coming out in June/July I'll just get a Quad. What do yall think?

You wont see a new pro desktop until September at least. Can you wait that long? Even if you do wait that long are all the apps you use universal? If you answered no to either of those 2 questions get a G5 Quad!

You're asking about a Laptop and a Desktop. Which do you need the most?

One thing to consider is that, as per the current MacBook Pro, Rev.A machines are prone to faults.

There's been so many MacBook Pro threads, I'm starting to see things!

Ignore the my first sentence - but my second still sticks.

How about if you were considering the old Dul 2GHz PM versus a new MacBook Pro.

The clock speeds are close.. and sure rosetta is there, but its a laptop and its portable.

How do the two compare toe to toe I wonder?

If Intel can ship Woodcrest in June, it is possible that Apple's MacPro towers could be both announced and available at WWDC in August. Anyway, that's the optimistic view.

Buy a used/refurb G5 now. Sell it in six months. Get an Intel PM at that time, after the initial round of kinks have been worked out.
