So 2 weeks ago, my Mac (a1289) decided to turn off in the beginning of a recording session and not turn on since. Thought it was the power supply so I replaced it and still nothing. No power whatsoever ever. It was suggested that it was the mother board. I ordered and replaced the motherboard and I have power but in getting a loud screeching ringing noise and fans blowing on full. Any suggestions? Could it be the video card now. Real frustrated and about to chuck this thing through the window.

I suspect there's a mismatch between SMC version of the Backplane and the CPU board.
MP 2009 SMC : 1.39f05 (regardless flashed firmware 4,1> 5,1 or not).
MP 2010/2012 SMC: 1.39f11

MP (A1289) is a description used for all 3 MP releases.

So how do I check and get this fixed?

If you're not sure your Mac Pro is a MP4,1 (2009) or a MP 5,1 (2010/2012) you could find out by the serial number.
The serial is on the back side under the PCIe cards.
Entering this e.g. here will give a clue : https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/

Once you know the exact model you have, you will have to get the correct Backplane (and return this one if possible).
The backplanes for a MP 2010 and MP 2012 are the same.
