Mac Pro rack mount idea.

Am I the only one that wants a Mac Pro similar to this but with sexy Apple design? I have a table with an empty rack mount slot waiting for this Mac Pro.

Also, make the top cover easy to access for easy upgrades.

In my future dream house that I've yet to build, that would be perfect. Somewhere next to the wine cellar, with an optical Thunderbolt cable running to that one desk that I need for a large monitor and productivity.

YES, SWEET DEITY. The cheese grater really was a great design. And from the Xserves we know they know how to put things in a rack. Give us a Mac Pro in a 2U box, Apple!

Some of us use our Macs in a professional environment. We don't need an artisanal, hand-crafted Mac Pro. We need a machine that run macOS in a professional setting, with professional modularity/upgradability and professional mounting options. An HP z-class workstation that runs macOS and mounts in a rack.

Come on, Apple. My rack is waiting. It wants a professional Mac in it instead of a Trashcan on top of it. But it can't wait too much longer.

The cheese grater and nMP we heralded as quiet machines, thanks to their larger, slower-moving fans. Very important for audio and video pros!

That's a solution looking for a problem. (And seriously, you need to get a hacksaw and cut off the handles and feet? )

People looking for rack-mount systems are usually looking for higher density (more CPUs per square foot) solutions.

So, with that setup you'd probably be able to get six cMPs (12 sockets) in a standard rack (six square feet).

Using standard 1U servers, you could get 84 sockets in the same six square feet.
