Mac Pro Ram ECC Errors - help

I just got a new Mac Pro.
I received 2 512's of Ram From Apple.
I bought 4 of the 1gig Ram from OWC (says its to Apple specs).

I have the 4 1gigs in the top 4 slots,
and the 2 512's on the Bottom.

I have had my machine on for the last 24 hours or so since i got it -
I am getting a LOT of ECC errors on the A1 riser 1gig Ram
and a few and the B1 riser - 512.

Should I be worried about this,
and is there any other way to test my RAM to make sure it is okay.

The A1 riser worries me with : 365288143 errors

Besides mixing things up...

To get the benefit of the 4 channel memory, the 4 GB needs to be spit to 2 risers in the first DIMM spots on each Riser A&B, with the last 1 GB filling up Riser A.

While you are switching things around, you can always move the erroring memory to the other riser.

You have 4 available channels in 2 branches -- channel 0/1 on Riser A and channel 2/3 on Riser B. So to get all channels on at the same time, same memory 2 risers same DIMM slots.

Is there a chance that the one stick getting all the errors is defective?

Yes it could have a problem ... but you'll find out once you move the DIMMs around to split them into the two risers and move Apple's memory into the right spot.

Apple has a decent graphic on DIMMs, but it doesn't tell you anything about how to set up 4 channel memory.

Memory mistake

First off, you are paying way too much from OW. New egg has "name brand" memory for about half that.

My advice: Send all the memory back and try your 2 512s in A.

I agree that the OP should send at least the error-prone RAM back, but the RAM at newegg doesn't seem to have very big heat sinks like apple-approved RAM.

thank you kindly for the advice. I am about to try switching the ram around now. I will watch to see if that also makes a difference with the Errors.
If the errors do keep up on that one stick of RAM -
I will be sending it back.

Chatin, Silent Wave:
I like OWC and use them for most of my mac hardware -
i try to keep supporting a company that has always been of good service to me.
Price is not the most important aspect in why i choose a product, I've learned in the past that the cheapest option is often cheapest for a reason.
It would be a little irrational to spend the money on a top of the line machine like the Mac Pro, and then purchase substandard Ram for it. (NewEgg's might be as good, but that hasn't been proved yet - and OWC's claimed to be to Apple's specs and were available right away).
That being said I could have purchased a defective and expensive stick of Ram - in that case I will be requesting a replacement!
