I was playing with new Mac Pro shape and came up with idea that it could be flexible, allowing every customer to MOD it how he wants. Cover would be same as official, but with one more (moving) part in bright aluminium.

First, if you need more power after Mac Book purchase, you can easily upgrade it with folding up silver part, installing modules for components placement and install components you want.

Second, if you are (for example) rendering guy you can fold up cover when you are in process of rendering so you have more space/airflow in case. After you finish your job, you can get back your Mac Pro in original shape in 2 seconds.

Third, if you dont want to upgrade, just leave it like it is.

Take a look & let me know what do you think :)

I do NOT like this. Without other images of the expandability it is hard to understand what you are trying to convey.

That's an awfully small add-on to house anything significant. What exactly do you propose fitting in there?

What type of connector would be used?
What type of modules would they be?
Who would make the modules?

Guys thanx for comments. Since this was just my idea on late evening I wanted to share it with you - nothing special.

I am not hardware specialist so I cant answer on your questions, that is why I posted it here to hear from more informed guys could this be possible (or logical for people who want to upgrade their future Mac Pro).

Modules would be made for holding components and you could buy them as 3rd party product. On that modules you could mount any component you need.

Also, I showed this case as partly up-folded.
