Lately sometimes(not always) I get the regular chime and then repeated softer chimes and grey screen upon startup forcing me to hit the power button to restart until it boots. Sometimes 2 times sometimes 3 times. Shouldn't be related to RAM.....any thoughts?
I've already read this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768 but it doesn't fit into any of those scenarios.

I assume you’re talking about your cMP 3,1.
Have you tried removing ram and then reinstalling one at a time?
Have you changed the PRAM battery in the last 5 years?
Have you tried reseating any PCIe devices? Same for any external devices (USB, FireWire etc).

Yes That's right!

Yes did that.

Have you changed the PRAM battery in the last 5 years?

Yes the other day in lieu of the situation.

Will try reseating no external devices plugged in right now.

If you end up needed another 5770 card, I have a couple spares I can sell that I removed from my 2012 5,1 a year ago and replaced with bigger cards.

If I had a HD 5770 kicking around, I'd give it away for free , since the value is very low.

Supposing the GPU is failing , you could also look for an alternative that performs much better e.g. GTX 680 (and flash it).

Well if you want I would be happy to take it as I’m still having startup/boot issues. That would be appreciated!
The current is a Radeon 2600 as shown below and it was installed 5 years ago. At present the MP is again down after crashing after I typed com in the right side finder. It starts up but won’t boot stays in grey screen.
