Are you selling one??

Theres a similar spec one on ebay for £1525, the only differences being it has the 7300GT card on it instead of the X1900, and no Applecare or Bluetooth/Airport. Add say another £250 to all that to get around £1775 for the value of the one you've listed here.

One would assume that most resale values will be pretty close to the full retail value at this time, simply because the machine has only been out 7-8 weeks.

Interesting. I'm about to splash out on a Mac Pro of VERY simliar spec to this, but my mind has been wandering towards the 24" iMac too. Think I'm going to stick with getting the Mac Pro, but was wondering what your reasons were for sending back your iMac in favour of the Pro?

yeah the 24" iMac looks sexy as hell! i had a brief look at one in our local apple store.

the thing is i use logic pro, and have just started studying final cut,and shake.i want to get into these programs big style so i figured i have a bit of spare cash so go for the best i can afford.

and of course the macpro is user upgradable! so that helps.

im thinking of the above spec macpro and add some more ram when cash comes available.

im also thinking of getting the 23"ACD but have seen people have had problems with backlight bleed.

I am fairly sure in terms of resale value the MP will be fair better than the iMac's, I've seen iMac resale prices drop about 30% in just the span of one update (iMac in question was a 1.83 CD iMac, original price $1700, sold for $1000).

The workstation on the other hand will hold its value for years. For the 24" iMac? May God bless you if you so much as get a single dead pixel, instantly chops its resale value into worthless category, relatively speaking.
