Mac Pro sensor problem

I've got an original 4 core Mac Pro 2.66, and Hardware Diagnostic reports that for the CPU-A core current test, the sensor is reading below the low limit. I've checked the 2-pin cable going from that CPU to the logic board, and it seems fine. I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me if this is anything to be concerned about.

Do you mean CPU core temp sensor or heatsink sensor?
What are your iStat or Temperature monitor reads? Is there any significant difference between CPU A and B read? Are fans running with constant or variable speed (compare fans speeds when idle and under heavy CPU load)?

I'm pretty sure it's the current sensor, nothing to do with temperature. iStat reports under current for CPU 1 around 3 A, whereas on another known good Mac Pro, it reports 13 A. So I guess either the sensor is faulty, or the CPU isn't getting enough current. But all the diagnostic LEDs are normal, which would suggest the power supply is okay.

Ah, you meant current sensor, I missed this word Your iStat read isn't good, true. I got 9.7 A on both CPUs (5150 too, like yours). I'm not sure where sensor is located: on chip or on logic board.
Try SMC reset if you already didn't. If its firmware error, it may be corrected.

If except this Hardware Diagnostics error everything seems fine and your MP is stable, I think you shouldn't worry.

Maybe a weird question. But my 12-core boots really slow. When I press the powerbutton all the fans start running at full speed, than it takes like 10 seconds until the apple logo appears. Do you have the same issue?
Mine is in repair now and they told me I had a faulty sensor but they fixed it. I hope I get mine back tomorrow.
What program did you use for the hardware diagnostics?
