Hi!

A friend of mine owns a Mac Pro Early 2008. From time to time, the computer turns really slow and it takes ages to open a program or a document. But after some time it runs again at normal speed. He told me this happens when he sends the computer to sleep more than once, usually when he wakes the system up for the third time.

I ran EtreCheck and this is the report.

EtreCheck version: 4.1.3 (4A188)

DriveDx is easy background app to montitor for drive health and status. Checks externals as well. May be worth looking into if problems persist. Backup critical data now, just in case.

He already changed his hard drive to SSD. I will tell him about DriveDx.

Thank you!

The Peninsula
is trim enabled
..and has the drive been force-trimmed? Just enabling trim doesn't immediately help - it just means that over time a dirty drive may start getting cleaner.

And about the worst thing you can do is to overwrite an SSD completely with zeroes - that makes it 100% dirty (except possibly some overprovisioned space).
