I Have my 7,1 roughly a month and I noticed the highly polished stainless steel handle gets scratched up easily .

don't worry, after a year or two will still be scratched anyway, just keep using it and let it save time and make money for you. :p

Yeah. I'm pretty careful. I always place it down on something soft, though I have to be careful about static. I had to send it to the Apple Store because the handle got damaged replacing ram. The metal is also soft, so be careful.

TBH, if the polished stainless steel on the Apple Watch can be scratches easily, I expect the same thing on the 7,1.

Anyway, there are plenty of videos about how to remove scratches, should work on the 7,1 as well.

I was able to remove the scratch using Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. Scratch is undetectable using 3.5x Loupe with natural light. White Room light will show very light Microscratches (barely perceptible);
anyway the metal used by Apple is indeed very soft as it is marked by even cotton cloth . I have tried using a Dremel with Jewelers Rouge using the Dremel Cloth buffing wheel but the best results came with just using the Mother's polish and Flannel Cloth.
