I just got my Mac Pro on Saturday and just today, I went to wake it from sleep and it was completely off. When I turned it on, I got a message that the system had an error and to click a button to start.

Which crash log do I need to look at to see why this happened?

My previous Mac Pro of 6 years didn't do this once. This is my second 2013 Mac Pro with an issue. Very disappointed and frustrated that I have deal with after transferring over all of my data.

Should I return it and get a new one?

Did you have a power failure in the middle of the night? Even a brief one, that wouldn't have caused your kitchen clocks to reset?

There's an option in Energy Saver settings for "Start up automatically after a power failure" that is off by default. If you've left that on the default setting, and your power was interrupted, that's what I'd expect to happen.

You may not see much in the logs, unless something was being logged via App Nap. Open Console.app and see if you can spot anything that happened between the time you put it to sleep and the time you started the machine back up again.

Thanks, but I'm sure there was no power failure. Everything else is fine and clocks are good too. I noticed another poster on the forum is having the exact same issue.

I'm surprised there isn't a specific log after a power crash.

Here is the log file of the crash:

Definitely call AppleCare support. I'm sure they want to hear from you about this. I would not hang about asking for help on this forum, even though people will try and help. The Apple Tech people are the best ones to help you for this type problem.

Just a quick update. It crashed this morning again. I'm in my 14 days, so I will have to return.
