Its early, I happen to be up... and my Mac Pro wakes from sleep. I hear it switch on, spin up, then maybe a minute later... back to sleep. I placed the system to sleep hours ago. Very odd.

Have you figured it out? Mine almost never stays in sleep mode for too long, and it never puts itself back to sleep. It seems to have something to do with movement because sometimes just me placing books or my phone on my desk, which is near my 2008 Mac Pro on the floor, or walking very near it, wakes it up. I don't believe in ghosts/spirits, but It still kinda creeps me out (lol), as i'll put it to sleep and sometimes it'll wake up as I'm about to fall asleep i'll hear the click & power on. Sometimes it clicks on as soon as I hit the bed. Nothing stirring in the room. I have no USB devices plugged in and no media in the Superdrive. It's done it ever since i've had it. It rarely ever keeps itself in sleep mode all night or all day.
No. The problem has not occurred again, so I'm not sure what to make of it. The ghost in the machine I guess.
