Hopefully someone can shed a bit of light on this. I'm running Lion on a 2008 Mac Pro (NVIDIA 8800GT), and the fonts in terminal just look off.

I'm comparing the display (of text in the terminal) between my Mac Pro and and 2009 15" MBP (NVIDIA 330M). Here are two images where terminal has the exact same settings, only on different machines:

The Mac Pro (8800GT)

And on the MBP:

The MBP looks way better - anyone know what I need to change on my desktop to make this look better?

Thanks in advance!
Dan

Copy & paste this command in Terminal

defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain AppleFontSmoothing -int 2

and relaunch Terminal

Worked! Thank you - and I was able to google AppleFontSmoothing to find out what was going on....
