don't worry about it... it sometimes happens... very occasional
it is my experience, that the OS X installed from the factory isn't as stable as OS X can be.
I usually do a clean install with the DVD before i use it... it makes in my opinion the os more stable AND saves 20 gig of space...
Well...maybe not so occasional. Last night I put the machine to sleep manually for the second time. Again, it did not wake up properly. I restarted and set the sleep timer to 10 minutes. I went to bed and let the machine sleep automatically. This morning I tried to wake it up by hitting the space bar. The desktop appeared briefly, maybe a little longer than before, and then the display went blank again. So that's three times sleeping, three times not waking up.
Other than this my Mac Pro is running fine. I haven't really pushed it yet because I haven't received my FCS crossgrade, but I haven't noticed any other problems.
Do you guys think I should call Apple, or should I attempt a reinstall first?

By the way, I've heard it's better for your computer if you never let it go to sleep. - Leave it on every night unless you'll be a way a day or more. Is this true? I usually keep the hard drives spinning, just not sure on sleepiness.
I like to put my computers to sleep when I'm not using them to conserve energy. I don't know exactly how much it saves, but I feel better about it. I think most people who leave their computers on over night do so to let the 3:00am cron jobs run, but I just run them manually in the terminal.
