Mac Pro1, 1 Upgrade

I have two 2006 Mac Pro. I have already upgraded one of them to 8 core 2.66 chip and will do the other shortly. I am going to buy the graphics cards next and will put the recommended ATI Radeon 5770 (1gig) in my main studio computer but I don't need that in the secondary computer.

My Question: What less expensive graphics card can I install that will be better than what is in there and will open in the 64bit environment - Mavericks/Yosemite?

I think the 5770 is already the least expensive card I'd recommend. You should find it for ~50$ or even less...

Really? For a mac version? They all seem to be $200ish.

Any (reference) 5770 PC card will do. Can be easily flashed if you care about bootscreens.

Good to know.. When I was reading about that It looked like one had to send it in and get up flashed.. company wanted $110.. didnt seem worth it.

I dont really care about the boot screen ultimately. Ill read more about flashing a PC version.
