Hello everybody,

Please excuse my inevitable spelling mistakes, English is not my native language...

I am a musician based in Amsterdam, Netherlands
Joined this forum to learn more, and if possible help others
My expertise is in DAW's , especially Propellerheads Reason.

I recently bought a Mac Pro 4.1
Was kind of succesful installing El Capitan via an USB 2Terrabite external disk.
Everything worked except my 3 internal harddrives wont show up in " Computer" in the navigation pane...

Pressing Option on boot, nothing except the USB disk with MacOsX on it, and the bootable USB disk i had installed OsX from.

Command+R, going into resque mode, into diskutility : no internal disks shown.

From resque mode trying the terminal ,doing a diskuitil list : no internal disks shown.

I actually want this machine updatet to a 5.1 firmware, got to understand that it has to be done from off El Capitan.

I have allready, on a separate disk, Snow Leopard going fine. Altough ofcourse very limmited qua internet browser and no acces to the appstore and such.
Snow leopard is not where i want this machine to be, you will understand?!

when the disks dont show with diskutil list then they are physically not readable.

What exact brand and type are they? Sometime you will find SAS drives, what need a special controller, in Mac Pros - and the raid card pulled.

Finally result!
From jensd.be i saw a youtube guide on how to flash the firmware to 5,1
Not to hard to do, just follow the instructions on the youtube post
Main thing is to edit the ExtractAndPatchEFIFiles script
So now i'm on MP51.007F.B03
Next is to install Catalina....
Thank you guys for thinking with me !
